The Landscape Horticulturist OJT Job Instruction Method is an efficient and effective way for Landscape Horticulturists and other experienced workers to train new and/or inexperienced workers to learn and perform new skills while meeting or exceeding:

Safety Standards
Quality Standards
Productivity Standards

The Job Instruction Method was developed by the government of the United States during World War Two – a time when it was critically important to train workers to become as efficient and effective as possible as rapidly as possible. Since then, the Job Instruction Method has been used to train millions of workers around the world. The Job Instruction Method is a STANDARDIZED APPROACH to training that:

• Is simple and easy for trainers and mentors to learn
• Is intended to teach workers a wide variety of skills
• Requires minimum presentation time - ten to fifteen minutes per ‘learning moment’
• Is built on the principle of learning by doing – ideal for OJT
• Is viral, where people who have been trained in the Method can then train others
